Enough of the bad stuff, there were some good times and a lot of information. We learned a lot and saw some cute cubs and mamas, all fighting for their place under the walnut trees. Their mission was a lot more important and serious than ours, FOOD FOR THE WINTER!
A sticky situation, since male bears will sometimes kill the young cubs. People were cleared out of the field and we waited to see what he would do. He was caught in the middle of a horse stampede when the Cove horses were let out into the pasture for the night. Interestingly he just hunkered down until they passed and then continued on to a walnut tree on his side, next to the fence. All five bears had a single purpose in mind. SURVIVAL! Sometimes just surviving helps to separate the things that are important in life from the things that are just trivial.
